Growth Doesn't Create Leadership Problems. It Reveals Them.

Most leadership challenges do not appear with growth. They are exposed by it. What worked at one stage of an organisation quietly becomes the ceiling at the next.

A founder's ability to hold every decision in their head is a strength at ten people and a bottleneck at fifty. A leadership team's habit of resolving things over coffee works until the coffee runs out and the diary fills up. The pattern that carried the business here becomes the very thing that stops it from going further.

The mistake is to treat this as a people problem. It rarely is. Almost always it is a pattern problem — a way of leading, deciding, delegating and communicating that has silently outlived its usefulness.

Coaching, at its best, gives a leader the space to see the pattern. To notice what they are still carrying that no longer needs to be theirs. To decide, with clarity, what has to change in how they lead so the organisation can keep growing without collapsing under its own weight.

Growth is honest. It does not create the problem. It simply refuses to let you keep pretending it isn't there.
